Remuneration: R 1,023,545.88 to R 1 326 700.00 CTC per annum.
The purpose of the role:
To provide support to the CFO and overall management in delivering BANKSETA’s financial management, accounting, compliance, reporting, audit and risk responsibilities.
Main Responsibilities:
- To compile and produce accurate financial statements or financial management packs on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis including budget comparison and projections;
- To ensure reporting, processing and payment of mandatory, discretionary levies and grants within agreed timelines; liaise with DHET and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations of levies cycle, creditors cycle and grant cycles;
- To maintain up to date and comprehensive accounting records on the approved accounting systems covering all aspects of assets, liabilities, revenues and expenditures and commitments of the BANKSETA in terms of GRAP and relevant legislation and ensure monthly reconciliation or substantiation of assets and liabilities
- To ensure all processing and reporting is done within legislation requirements
- To monitor budgets for all revenues and expenditures and advise line managers on the risks of missing revenue targets or budget overspend;
- To manage cash flow projections and investment administrations within the approved investment policy;
- To provide oversight over commitments reporting and guide staff to ensure all commitments are accurately and timeously reported.
- To ensure processing and payment of all creditors, expenses and liabilities within agreed time lines, and that monthly creditor reconciliations and adequate follow ups are done;
- To liaise with internal and external stakeholders such as SCM, auditors, bankers and other organisations in order to ensure that all aspects of finance management are integrated and seamless for internal & external clients;
- To comply with all mandatory activities of the business such as responding to both internal and external audit requests; project performance management reports and ensuring that the information required is readily available at the time of audit.
- To manage and supervise team of 4 - 5 subordinates, conduct performance management and coaching thereof.

Knowledge and Skills Required:
- PFMA, National Treasury regulations, Companies Act
- Sound understanding of financial matters i.e. GRAP
Minimum Requirements:
- Finance or accounting related degree or qualification at NQF7
- 3 years finance management experience at supervisor or manager level.
- 3 years’ experience working in accounting/finance role with a SETA environment or public entity outside a department. (SETA experience will be an advantage.)
- 3 years’ experience working with a computerised accounting package (SAGE or Dynamix or Accpac would be an advantage)
Ideal/Advantageous
- Post Graduate qualification and professional accreditation ( e.g CIMA;CA)
